EP Tour Langkawi 2012

AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia was proudly to organize the first ever EP Tour 2012 (Exchange Participant Tour 2012), a national project under the AIESEC in Malaysia.

Integration Team of AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia was responsible to organize this event in Langkawi Island, Kedah for two days from 23 March until 24 March 2012.

The main objective of the EP Tour 2012 is to enhance the relationship between interns and members of AIESEC around Malaysia. It was an opportunity for interns to know more about Malaysia and to enjoy the Malaysians’ culture as well as visiting the interesting places.

Global Fiesta 2012

Once again AIESEC in UUM had organised the Global Fiesta successfully and with fully supports from UUM students which was held on 22^nd March 2012 in the new PKP hall, Universiti Utara Malaysia. This time, there were 13 interns from various countries together with AIESECers and students of UUM organized on this event. There were many awesome performances on their cultures during Global Fiesta.

The Global Fiesta started with the introduction dance by interns and followed by the performance of local students with the traditional Malay dance. As usual, Khor Gaik Huey as Local Committee President and Chang Mun Hoe as the Organizing Committee President of AIESEC in UUM gave their speeches before the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony of Global Fiesta was officiated by our Ms. Khor Gaik Huey, Local Committee President, Ms. Koo Jett Roo, President of Marketing Club UUM and Mr. Chang Mun Hoe, Organizing Committee President of C.U.T.E.

After that, every interns was started to present their performances accordingly. One of the most attractive performances was the singing of Doraemon theme song in Japanese language by Japan intern with UUM students. The performance brought a totally higher excited level to all the audience. Other than that, there were also performances from Netherlands, Germany, Australia, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan as well! The performances had done included German dance, Kazakhstan traditional dance, Russia Traditional dance, Vietnam bamboo stick traditional dance, Netherland song, Vietnam song, Wushu, HIV/AIDS drama, Chinese modern dance, Jordan dance, Korea dance and many more.

After all the performance, a video sharing session on for the whole internship period by all interns was held to recap back on their whole journey passed through with UUM students in the past 5 weeks’ time.

Global Fiesta 2011 ended up by giving out the appreciation certificates to these interns. The most outstanding award was won by the Vietnam interns for this batch. Time past as fast as the light, one of the most extraordinary Global Fiesta had come to the end. Another enjoyable and memorable night for all the interns and UUM students!

Local Committee Day

AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia had organized a gathering called “LC Day”, where all the AIESECers in UUM gathered together and have fun together. This event started from 5.00pm until 11.00pm and it was held on 20 March 2012 at New Pusat Kebudayaan Pelajar.

The members of Talent Management department had prepared a warm-hearted dinner barbecue for the members of Local Committee of UUM. We have had such great wonderful dinner among all the members. But suddenly it began to rain during the event. Luckily, the rain stopped afterward.

After the dinner, we have a competition among us. All the members had been divided into five groups to prepare for this competition. This was a creative activity and it is to test the spirit of cooperation among members. Before the ending session of “LC Day”, there was a lucky draw too. It was an enjoyable evening we had for the “LC Day”.

AIESEC Cultural Explore Race in UUM

On 2nd March, Friday, Cultural Understanding Through Exchange (C.U.T.E.) project was organizing the Cultural Explore Race in Universiti Utara Malaysia.

Cultural Explore Race was an event similarly with Amazing Race that there were several station games for the participants. Participants were divided into 8 groups to compete with each other. Interns from C.U.T.E. and RED Wave Initiative were joined into each of the 8 groups.

Group 1 - Kachi Rock and Roll

Group 2 - Gong Zhu Ka Tou

Group 3 - Passion

Group 4 - Come to win LAH

Group 6 - Ninja

Group 8 - Beng Beng!!

The Station Games

The event began at 8am with the opening speech from the Organizing Committee President of Cultural Understanding Through Exchange, Chang Mun Hoe. Then event ended in the afternoon after the lunch and awards presentation to the winners.
